LIMINAL

My nose? To books.

My mind? On paper.

My heart? In art.

My full name is John Ohan Danho.

Ohan is the Armenian name for John. Therefore, you’ve correctly deduced that my name is John John.

I was named after my grandfather.

As an Armenian-American, that hyphen between identity has captured my imagination and attention for at least a decade. I shoulder its weight in my writing and try to create my truth.

I consider myself lucky to’ve had my poetry published several times over, and I am working on my first ever novel — a full-on fantasy epic titled Broadfire, a reinvigoration of Armenian mythology for the Western palate. I write as often as I can in-between teaching English at the college level.

In exploring this site, I hope you gain a fuller picture of

who John Ohan is.
